Escape Plan

One of the better movies I've watched recently.

Similar to Prison Break. Plot decent. Script was funny. Would not mind a rewatch. Especially loved the scene the cons posed for the camera. Some of the plot details were not spelled out clearly, but there was always subtle hints. So I guess its not too bad, except that sometimes it was a tad too ambiguous.

Fifty Shades of Grey

It's a kinky read alright.

But is it nutritious? I highly doubt it. It's a very mainstream novel. Good for introducing close minded ppl to the world of crazy kinky sex.

Character development so so

Plot a lil too similar to Twilight.

(Might as well write review for Twilight here. Vampire-human love. It's not as bad as haters claim. It's jz very typical romance set with a fantasy setting, its good actually.. compared to all other Romance novels.)

Remember Me

By Christopher Pike.

It's a trilogy about a gal who died, and how her spirit stayed to find out who killed her. Interesting read that vaguely mentioned chakra. The repeat of reptilian-like aliens (lizard-ish) being the "negative form" stopping the enlightening of human. Again, signs of Buddhist teaching about being "someone to no-one to everyone" and just enjoying oneself o sth.

interesting light read. the short stories inside are quite note-worthy.

The House of Dolls

1955 novella by Ka-tzetnik 135633?

I remembered it as a very cruel story about the war.

But rereading it, it was rather short, with the "main point" of the story coming in rather late. It's supposedly based on a Jewish gal's diary about how she was sent to a sort of 'camp' where she had to whore herself to the German soldiers.

Not as good as I remember. But I guess its one of those that are supposed to be "classical". A bit disappointed. Some books are better left as a memory i guess.

Maledicte & Kings and Assassins

by Lane Robins

The first book was great. I love the character (who the book was titled after). Madly in love with her. But its my own preference for strong characters with biting wits. Just the way my best frenz mostly are.

The second book was... quite a letdown. But it made me think a lil, since it was rather political.

Overall, I think the first book was worth be pulling an all nighter, but the second book i regret spending excessive hours poring over it, in hope of finding Maledicte in it.

Flowers for Algernon

by Daniel Keyes

It was one of the books that left strong impact on me back in high school. The story of a mentally challenged man made intelligent artificially. And then falling back to his original state. It was an overwhelming experience reading it.

Reread it recently... I understand some parts better now... But at the same time, it pales when I compare it against my impression of it. A lil too simple for my current state. Perhaps most good books are made to cater the general public to be successful.

Still one of the better books due to its idea. Should reread "Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13 and 3/4" to make comparison. (my memory relates these two books together from the extensive reading i did back at my slacking days.

Night's Cold Kiss

by Tracey O'Hara

Hmm, the review made it sound good. Its not a BAD work or anything. A lil heavy on the sex scenes. What i dont like about it is that she tended to repeat her lines. Even if its good, repeating it at least 3 times in your book, is kinda dumb.

Another fantasy story about slayer mating with vampire. And as usual the gal being the former. Damn. And she's "beautiful" with perfect chest n everything. I kinda prefer it when the gal was not exactly perfect so she'll be haunted by a lil insecurity. HAHA!

Not sth I recommend for ppl who dislike wasting time on a non-superb book =)
